New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi has launched a six-month Certificate Programme in Generative AI to address the rising demand for skilled professionals in artificial intelligence. Part of the institute’s Continuing Education Programme, the initiative is designed to equip learners with advanced AI skills aligned with industry needs.
The programme focuses on key areas of AI, including Large Language Models such as GPT, BERT, and T5. It covers essential modules like mathematical foundations for machine learning, natural language processing, generative AI for text and vision, and responsible AI practices. Participants will also gain insights into reinforcement learning with human feedback and vision-language models.
Practical training is a cornerstone of the curriculum, offering participants hands-on experience with widely used tools such as Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and NLP tools like NLTK and spaCy. The programme prepares learners for roles such as AI research scientist, machine learning engineer, data scientist, and NLP specialist.
The course is delivered through live online sessions and incorporates case studies, projects, and simulations. A one-day campus immersion at IIT Delhi provides participants with exposure to the institution’s research and academic environment.
Generative AI is playing a transformative role across sectors such as healthcare, finance, education, and autonomous systems, creating new opportunities and driving innovation. Professor Tanmoy Chakraborty from IIT Delhi highlighted the importance of upskilling, noting that the programme aims to enable professionals to contribute to technological advancements as AI continues to reshape various industries.
