Chennai: Dr. Kandaswamy, IPS (Retd), Event Chair of the PanIIT Tech4Bharat Summit 2026, along with Ashok Kumar, General Secretary, PanIIT Alumni India, and Board Member Praveen Kumar, met the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin, to formally invite him to grace the PanIIT Tech4Bharat Summit 2026 as Chief Guest.
During the meeting, the PanIIT delegation briefed the Chief Minister on the vision and objectives of the Summit, which marks 75 years of excellence of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and highlights India’s technology-led growth, innovation, entrepreneurship, and public policy leadership. The Chief Minister appreciated the initiative and the role of IIT alumni in nation-building, technology advancement, and strengthening the startup and innovation ecosystem.
The PanIIT Tech4Bharat Summit 2026 is scheduled to be held on 18 January 2026 at Taj Vivanta, IT Expressway, Chennai, and will bring together senior government leaders, IIT Directors, global industry leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, defence technologists, and IIT alumni from across the world. The Summit is being organized with the support and encouragement of the Government of Tamil Nadu and aims to position the State as a global hub for technology, innovation, and inclusive development.
Organised by PanIIT Alumni India, the apex body representing alumni of all 23 IITs worldwide, the Summit will focus on celebrating the IIT legacy, fostering industry–academia–government collaboration, promoting startup innovation, and advancing modern technologies critical to national development and security.
