New Delhi: Citizens across all 36 States and Union Territories can now access nearly 2,000 e-Government services digitally as the National e-Governance Division (NeGD) has completed pan-India integration of services on DigiLocker and e-District platforms.
The services span a wide range of daily needs, including certificates, welfare schemes, utility bill payments, and other essential facilities. Officials said this expansion will enhance convenience and transparency in service delivery while reducing dependence on paper-based processes. The achievement is part of the Digital India programme’s broader vision of building seamless, mobile-first governance and contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals.
DigiLocker, which has become a central pillar of India’s digital public infrastructure, now ensures secure, interoperable, and reliable access to documents and services. Its framework has been designed to address data security and coordination challenges while providing inclusive access for citizens nationwide.
With the latest additions, Maharashtra offers the highest number of integrated services at 254, followed by Delhi with 123, Karnataka with 113, Assam with 102, and Uttar Pradesh with 86. Kerala and Jammu & Kashmir each provide 77 services, Andhra Pradesh has 76, and Gujarat 64. Tamil Nadu and Goa offer 63 each, while Haryana has 60 and Himachal Pradesh 58. In total, 1,938 services are currently available on the platforms.
NeGD said it plans to further expand this portfolio by introducing AI-driven innovations, conducting structured training at the state level, and developing tools to improve last-mile delivery. The initiative, it added, reflects the government’s commitment to using digital technologies to improve accessibility and empower citizens.
Established in 2009 as part of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, NeGD has been supporting programme management and implementation of e-Governance projects. It has developed and manages several national platforms, including DigiLocker, UMANG, API Setu, myScheme, Meri Pehchaan, and India Stack Global.
