New Delhi: In a fresh push to showcase the government’s employment drive ahead of a politically crucial period, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited candidates during the 19th edition of the Rozgar Mela, saying India’s youth would play a defining role in the country’s next phase of growth.
The nationwide recruitment event was conducted via video conferencing across 47 locations, with appointments spanning key central government departments including Railways, Home Affairs, Health, Financial Services and Higher Education.
Addressing the recruits, Modi said sectors such as technology, manufacturing and semiconductors were opening up new opportunities for India’s young workforce. Referring to India’s growing global partnerships and investments, he said the country was steadily emerging as a major hub for innovation and skilled talent.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the government’s continued focus on accelerating recruitment in ministries and departments, describing employment generation as central to the vision of a developed India.
According to official figures, nearly 12 lakh appointment letters have been issued through the Rozgar Mela initiative since its launch. The programme was introduced to fast-track filling vacancies across central government offices and public institutions.
Officials said the newly inducted recruits would join various departments in different parts of the country, strengthening public service delivery and administrative capacity.
