New Delhi: Union Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation Amit Shah addressed the National Cooperative Conference organised by Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited, KRIBHCO, in Panchkula, Haryana, on 24 December 2025. The conference was held on the theme, “Prosperity through Cooperation, Role of Cooperatives in Sustainable Agriculture”.

The national deliberations focused on policy and implementation aspects related to sustainable agriculture, expansion of the role of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies, income stability of small and marginal farmers, and climate change challenges for cooperative-based agricultural models. The conference highlighted the role of cooperatives in strengthening agriculture at the grassroots level.

The Chief Minister of Haryana, Nayab Singh Saini, participated in the conference as a Special Guest. Union Ministers of State in the Ministry of Cooperation Krishan Pal Gurjar and Murlidhar Mohol, Haryana Minister of Cooperation Arvind Kumar Sharma, and Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shyam Singh Rana were also present.

On the occasion, Amit Shah e-inaugurated the Milk Cooling Centre at Salempur in Bhiwani, the Bhiwani plant, and the HAFED Atta Mill at Jatusana in Rewari. He also distributed RuPay Platinum Debit Cards to beneficiaries of cooperative banks in Haryana and registration certificates to the Presidents of M-PACS established by Haryana KRIBHCO. A portal showcasing activities undertaken during the International Year of Cooperatives was also inaugurated.

The conference emphasised the exchange of advanced agricultural knowledge, access to affordable credit, adoption of modern technologies, and promotion of organic and climate-resilient farming practices through the cooperative framework. Policy initiatives of the Ministry of Cooperation, efforts to strengthen PACS, and the role of national cooperative institutions such as KRIBHCO were discussed in detail.

Senior officials from the Union Ministry of Cooperation, KRIBHCO and the Government of Haryana, along with representatives from national and state-level cooperative institutions, Primary Agricultural Credit Societies, farmer organisations and other stakeholders, participated in the conference.

KRIBHCO has benefited millions of farmers across the country through fertiliser supply, agricultural advisory services and farmer-focused initiatives. The conference in Panchkula was positioned as an important step in advancing the cooperative movement during the International Year of Cooperatives 2025.
