Bullet train project completion timeframe to be within 6 months: Railway Board CEO VK Yadav
New Delhi: Railway Board CEO V K Yadav has said the bullet train project is progressing well and the real timeframe for its completion can be gauged within the next six months when the status of land acquisition is ascertained.
According to him, 82 per cent of the land has been acquired in Gujarat, while in Maharashtra the land acquisition is only at 23 per cent. In a linear project like the bullet train project, the work can only begin when a certain amount of land is available, he said.
He said that as the Covid-19 situation improves, “we will be able to start the bidding process and within the next three to six months, we will be able to get the status of land acquired and then we will be able to provide a real timeframe for the completion of the project.”
