New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has commended the training institutes of the Indian Army for their significant role in honing the personnel’s expertise in military strategies and warfare skills. He visited the Army War College, Infantry School, and Military College of Telecommunication and Engineering in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, on 29 December 2024, accompanied by Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi and senior Army officers.
During the visit, the officiating Commandant briefed him on the establishment of an Advanced Incubation and Research Centre and various collaborations to facilitate technological advancements. The minister also visited the Army Marksmanship Unit to observe its contributions to national sports and toured the Infantry Museum, where he was briefed on the history of the Infantry and the integration of modern equipment.
Addressing the personnel, the Defence Minister praised the Army's commitment to protecting the nation’s borders and ensuring security. He stated, “Your dedication and devotion to duty are an inspiration to all of us. It is due to your hard work and commitment that our country and its borders are becoming increasingly secure and strong.”
Rajnath Singh emphasised the need for the Armed Forces to remain vigilant and prepared, given the evolving geopolitical situation and challenges on both external and internal fronts. He highlighted the importance of closely monitoring adversaries and taking timely and effective actions.
He also underlined the government’s vision of making India a developed and self-reliant nation by 2047, asserting the critical role of the Armed Forces in achieving this objective. “You are the protectors of our borders and the forerunners in nation building. I am sure that you will continue securing our borders with courage and dedication and contribute to realising the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047,” he said.
Earlier in the day, Rajnath Singh visited Bhim Janm Bhoomi, the memorial dedicated to Dr BR Ambedkar, and paid tribute to the architect of the Indian Constitution at his birthplace in Mhow. He described Dr BR Ambedkar as a symbol of selfless service and a visionary who dedicated his life to social equality and empowerment.
