New Delhi: Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Dr Virendra Kumar inaugurated the Ministry Pavilion at the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025 in New Delhi, unveiling more than 40 stalls set up by Divyang entrepreneurs and artisans. The exhibition, held at Bharat Mandapam, marked a strong push towards inclusive economic participation through both traditional craft and modern assistive technologies.

The event also saw the presence of Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment B L Verma, Secretary Amit Yadav and senior officials, who reviewed the stalls and initiatives aimed at creating wider visibility for Divyang talent.

Dr Virendra Kumar said that the stalls supported by the Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities feature a mix of assistive products, handloom work, handicraft items and innovations developed by Divyang artisans. He said, “This initiative nurtures the creative potential, skill development, and economic empowerment of Divyangjan, opening pathways for sustainable livelihood and meaningful employment.”

He added that IITF plays an important role in connecting Divyang creators with national and international buyers. “IITF serves as a powerful platform for these Divyang artisans to market and export their ‘Made in India’ products, ranging from handloom and handicraft items to innovative creations, echoing the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Vocal for Local’. This opportunity not only promotes their craftsmanship at a global stage but also fosters self-reliance and wider market access.”

The Ministry Pavilion also features exhibits from National Institutes and Public Sector Enterprises, highlighting various support programmes that help Divyangjan build skills, access technology and expand their entrepreneurial reach.
