New Delhi: India recently hosted the 3rd National Executive Council Meeting of the Modern Pythian Games, marking four years of the global cultural movement led by the Delphic India Trust. Held in the national capital, the event brought together ministers, international delegates, and cultural ambassadors to reaffirm a shared commitment to advancing arts, heritage, and traditional sports through this growing platform.
The meeting highlighted India’s central role in reviving the spirit of the ancient Pythian tradition, offering a cultural alternative to the Olympic Games. During the event, Rajesh Jogpal, Chairman of the Organising Committee of the 1st National Pythian Cultural Games 2024 and Trustee of the Delphic India Trust, was honoured by Bijender Goel, Founder of the Modern Pythian Games, for his contributions in expanding the movement and supporting its nationwide reach.
Among the key announcements was PYTHINOVA 2025, the first global Pythian Games dedicated to disabled artists and players, scheduled to be held in New Delhi from December 2 to 5, 2025. The first International Pythian Youth Games are also planned for 2026 in Moscow, followed by the first International Pythian Games in Athens, Greece, in 2027, moving closer to the vision of a full-scale Cultural Olympics.
From the land of the Rigveda, Ramayana, and Rabindranath Tagore, the Modern Pythian Games continue to grow as a global platform for creative expression, cultural dialogue, and international collaboration.
