New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon jointly inaugurated the Raisina Dialogue 2025 in New Delhi on Monday evening. The annual conference, India's flagship forum on geopolitics and geoeconomics, brings together leaders and experts from around the world to discuss pressing global challenges.

Delivering the keynote address, Luxon highlighted the economic dynamism of the Indo-Pacific, stating that the region will contribute two-thirds of global economic growth in the coming years. By 2030, he noted, it will also be home to two-thirds of the world’s middle-class consumers. He emphasised that India is at the centre of this economic transformation and spoke about the broader opportunities presented by technological advancements.

Luxon described India and New Zealand as being on the brink of significant economic and societal change. He also noted that the Raisina Dialogue offers a critical platform for global thought leaders to engage in discussions on strategic challenges, particularly those concerning the Indian Ocean region.

This year’s theme, Kālachakra – People, Peace and Planet, sets the stage for conversations across six thematic pillars. Representatives from approximately 125 countries are attending the event, including ministers, former heads of state and government, military commanders, business leaders, technology experts, academics, journalists, and policy analysts.

The three-day event, running until 19 March, will provide a space for dialogue on key global issues, reinforcing India's role in shaping international discourse on security, trade, and technology.
