Nationwide campaign for grievance redressal and service delivery underway as part of Sushasan Saptah 2024

New Delhi: As part of Sushasan Saptah 2024, the “Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore” campaign is being conducted across 660 districts in India from 19 to 24 December 2024. This nationwide initiative focuses on public grievance redressal and improving service delivery at the grassroots level, aiming to bring governance closer to rural communities.

On 19 December 2024, 18,543 camps were organised at tehsil and panchayat headquarters, with 10,54,013 public grievances addressed and 1,52,76,268 service delivery applications disposed of in a single day. Madhya Pradesh hosted 8,077 camps, Uttar Pradesh held 3,011 camps, Rajasthan organised 2,207 camps, Chhattisgarh held 1,041 camps, and Bihar conducted 982 camps.

The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances is coordinating this extensive campaign, which seeks to establish effective governance at the grassroots level. A dedicated portal, https://darpgapps.nic.in/GGW24, has been operational since 10 December 2024 to streamline the campaign's processes.

The initiative covers all northeastern states, including Assam, Manipur, Tripura, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh, along with the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.

A District Level Dissemination Workshop will be held on 23 December 2024 to deliberate on three good governance practices introduced by district administrations and to discuss potential improvements in service delivery.

The “Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore” campaign is being described as India’s largest effort for doorstep delivery of services and public grievance redressal, embodying the principles of grassroots democracy and effective governance.
