New Delhi: Given the growing role of biofuels and make people aware of technological advancements in the green energy sector, Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL India), a government owned natural gas corporation, and leading Maharatna PSU in India, organised the ‘Biofuels Exhibition’ on behalf of oil and gas companies. 

"The exhibition showcased the technological advancement in the field of biofuels, uses and benefits of biofuel. The other highlights of the exhibitions included painting competitions of school children, the puppet show, magic show and on spot sketches by  artists," said GAIL India in a statement. 

The experts shared their thoughts on environmental issues, growing demand for energy, and medium-term depletion of petroleum has created the need for development of sustainable technologies based on renewable raw materials.

Biofuels might help to meet the future energy supply demands as well as contributing to a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the feasibility of biofuels is a solution to the world’s energy crisis, added GAIL India in the statement. /BI/
