New Delhi: AIIMS Delhi has issued comprehensive social media guidelines for students, resident doctors, faculty and employees, prohibiting the unauthorised use of the institute's name, logo and branding across digital and print platforms.
Under the new rules, prior written approval will be mandatory for using the AIIMS name or emblem in social media posts, event publicity, videos, blogs, reels or promotional material. The institute said the move is aimed at protecting its institutional identity and preventing reputational and legal risks.
The guidelines also prohibit sharing patient information, photographs or case details on social media, besides restricting the circulation of confidential academic material such as examination papers and answer keys. Users have been directed to maintain professional conduct online and refrain from posting defamatory, discriminatory, obscene or misleading content.
Student bodies, departments and other official AIIMS-affiliated social media accounts will be required to register their accounts with the institute and identify authorised administrators. Sponsored content and brand collaborations will require prior clearance.
AIIMS warned that violations could invite disciplinary as well as legal action, including suspension of privileges, withdrawal of institutional recognition and takedown of content found to be in breach of the policy. The guidelines have come into immediate effect.
