Dehradun: Five IPS officers in Uttarakhand have been promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG). They are SSP Dehradun Janmejay Khanduri; Sunil Meena, posted at the Police Headquarters; SSP Haridwar Dr Yogendra Singh Rawat, Sadanand Date and IPS officer Senthil Abudai Krishnaraj S, who is currently on deputation at the Centre.
Just months ahead of the crucial state assembly elections, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had last month transferred over 60 IAS and IPS officers in the state. Uttarakhand is slated to go to polls early next year. Khanduri said that his priority would be to keep a check on the law and order situation in the state capital. “My priority would be to ensure that justice is provided to each victim,” said Khanduri.
