Ajay Bhatnagar takes charge as CBI Special Director

New Delhi: Senior IPS officer Ajay Bhatnagar has taken over as a Special Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Belonging to the 1989 batch of the esteemed Indian Police Service (IPS), Jharkhand cadre, Bhatnagar brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise in the field of federal probe operations.

Currently serving as the Additional Director in the federal probe agency, his promotion to the esteemed position of Special Director is a testament to his exceptional track record and exemplary service.

Bhatnagar's tenure as Special Director is set to continue until his superannuation on November 20, 2024, the official order further stated. This appointment not only recognizes his distinguished career but also highlights his immense contribution to the realm of law enforcement.

In a parallel development, Anurag, a highly accomplished Joint Director within the CBI, has been elevated to the position of Additional Director within the agency. Anurag's promotion comes with a specific tenure until July 24, 2023, marking the completion of his commendable seven-year tenure, as outlined in the official order.

Furthermore, the Personnel Ministry order revealed the appointment of Manoj Sashidhar, an eminent IPS officer from the 1994 Gujarat cadre, to the coveted role of Additional Director in the CBI.

With a remarkable career trajectory and substantial experience, Sashidhar presently holds the position of Joint Director within the esteemed probe agency. His appointment is set for a duration of three years, illustrating the trust placed in his exceptional capabilities. /BI/
