New Delhi: The Central government has picked up Anil Kumar Lahoti to be appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chairman of the Railway Board. Only a week back, Lahoti, former General Manager of Central Railway, had been appointed as the Member, Infrastructure.
Lahoti, who belongs to the 1984 batch of Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE), will be taking over the chairmanship from Vinay Kumar Tripathi on January 1. According to media reports, his appointment is being seen as a part of an overhaul at the top management of the Railway Board.
Lahoti was appointed as the General Manager of the Central Railway in July 2021. Earlier, he worked in several key positions in both zonal railways and the Railway Board in Delhi. It is said that he also worked on developing the public private partnership model for station redevelopment. /BI/
