Patna: The Bihar government on Sunday carried out a major administrative reshuffle, transferring 11 IAS and 16 IPS officers across key departments and police units.
According to a notification issued by the General Administration Department, HR Sriniwas, a 1996-batch IAS officer, has been appointed Additional Chief Secretary of the Social Welfare Department.
Santosh Kumar Mall, a 1997-batch IAS officer, has been posted as Principal Secretary of the Disaster Management Department, while 2003-batch officer Lokesh Kumar Singh has been made Secretary of the Tourism Department.
The reshuffle also includes new assignments for several senior officers in finance, health and infrastructure-related departments. Kumar Ravi, a 2005-batch IAS officer, has been appointed Secretary of the Health Department, Ajay Yadav, also from the 2005 batch, has been posted as Secretary of the Energy Department, and Sanjay Kumar Singh, a 2007-batch officer, will serve as Secretary of the Finance Department.
Pranav Kumar, a 2008-batch IAS officer, has been appointed Secretary of the Building Construction Department. Manoj Kumar Singh, a 2009-batch officer, has been named Resident Commissioner of Bihar Bhawan in New Delhi, while 2010-batch officer Chandrashekhar Singh has been posted as Secretary of the Water Resources Department.
The police administration also saw significant changes in the reshuffle. Sudhanshu Kumar, a 1996-batch IPS officer, has been appointed Additional Director General, Law and Order. Nirmal Kumar Azad, a 1994-batch officer, has been posted as Director General, Training.
Among other IPS postings, Amit Kumar Jain, a 1996-batch officer, has been appointed ADG of the Economic Offences Unit, Nayyar Hasnain Khan has been made ADG of Bihar Special Armed Police, Amit Lodha, a 1998-batch IPS officer, has been posted as ADG, Wireless and Technical Services, while Amrit Raj has been appointed ADG of the Cybercrime-cum-Security Unit.
