Patna: The Bihar government has carried out a major reshuffle in the police department, transferring 29 officers, including 27 IPS officers, and appointing new police chiefs in 13 districts. The exercise also includes changes in key supervisory positions across the state.

Among the significant appointments, Shourya Suman has been posted as the new Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Purnea. He replaces Sweety Sehrawat, who has been transferred as SP in the Special Branch.

The reshuffle has brought changes to police leadership in districts including West Champaran (Bettiah), Aurangabad, Banka, Purnea, Sheikhpura, Bagaha, Vaishali, Kaimur, Saharsa, Khagaria, Katihar, Jehanabad and Sheohar.

Kumar Gautam has been appointed SP of Bettiah, Upendra Nath Verma has been posted as SP of Aurangabad, and Amitesh Kumar has been given charge of Banka. Himanshu will head the police force in Sheikhpura, while Rajesh Kumar has been appointed SP of Bagaha. Shubhank Mishra will serve as SP of Vaishali and Shikhar Chaudhary has been posted as SP of Kaimur.

Vikram Sihag has been appointed SP of Saharsa, Bhanu Pratap Singh will lead the police force in Khagaria, Parichay Kumar has been posted as SP of Katihar, Kota Kiran Kumar as SP of Jehanabad and Shailendra Singh as SP of Sheohar.

The state government has also revamped city policing in Patna by replacing all three City SPs. Shailja has been appointed City SP (East), Sanket Kumar City SP (West) and Mamta Kalyani City SP (Central). Atulesh Jha has been posted as City SP of Bhagalpur, while Abhinav will serve as City SP of Gaya.

In rural policing, Divyanjali Jaiswal has been appointed Rural SP of Gaya and Sakshi Kumari has been posted as Rural SP of Darbhanga.

Several district police chiefs have also been assigned new responsibilities. Khagaria SP Rakesh Kumar has been posted as Commandant of Bihar Special Armed Police-5 in Patna, while Kaimur SP Harimohan Shukla has been appointed Commandant of Bihar Special Armed Police-7 in Katihar. Aurangabad SP Ambrish Rahul has been transferred as Assistant Director at Bihar Police Academy, Rajgir.

Sheikhpura SP Baliram Kumar Chaudhary has been given charge as SP (Security) in the Special Branch. Ramanand Kaushal has been appointed SP in the CID, while Chandra Prakash has been posted as Commandant of Bihar Special Armed Police-10 in Patna. Jehanabad SP Aparajit has been transferred as Commandant of Bihar Special Armed Police-16 in Patna.

Among Bihar Police Service officers, Manoj Ram has been appointed Principal of the Constable Training School at Nathnagar.
