Major reshuffle in Delhi bureaucracy as L-G transfers 23 officers

New Delhi: In a significant administrative reshuffle, Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has ordered the transfer of 23 IAS and DANICS officers, assigning several of them new responsibilities or additional charges across departments. The changes, issued through an order dated August 1, aim to streamline governance and strengthen departmental oversight.

Sandeep Kumar, a 1997-batch IAS officer currently serving as Principal Secretary (Vigilance), has been given additional charge as Principal Secretary (IT), along with his existing roles in Environment and Forests and Administrative Reforms. Dilraj Kaur, a 2000-batch IAS officer, will now serve as Principal Secretary (Social Welfare) and oversee SC/ST/OBC Welfare, while being relieved of the General Administration Department (GAD).

Vikas Anand, a 2002-batch officer and Secretary to the Delhi Chief Minister, will also serve as Secretary (Information and Publicity). Shurbir Singh has been moved to Finance as Secretary while retaining his GAD and Power responsibilities.

Prince Dhawan, Managing Director of Delhi Transport Corporation and a 2012-batch officer, now holds additional posts as Special Secretary (IT) and Executive Director of Geospatial Delhi Limited. Fellow 2012-batch officer G Sudhakar will serve as Managing Director of Shahjahanabad Redevelopment Corporation alongside his existing role as District Magistrate (Central).

Pankaj Kumar takes on a new role as Special Secretary (NCR), in addition to Weights and Measures and Deputy Commissioner (HQ). Tapasya Raghav, a 2013-batch officer, has been appointed as State Mission Director (Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission) while continuing as Special Secretary (Health and Family Welfare) and Project Director (CATS).

Anjali Sehrawat moves from Social Welfare to Director (Higher Education) and TTE Director. Sachin Rana, currently Special Commissioner (Trade and Taxes), also takes over as Chief Vigilance Officer of DTL, IPGCL, and PPCL.

Kinny Singh continues as Special Secretary (Health) and adds Secretary (Public Grievance Commission) and Project Director (Delhi AIDS Control Society) to her responsibilities. Suneel Anchipaka will also handle the role of Special Secretary (Tourism), in addition to duties in Trade and Taxes.

Sanjeev Kumar has been given additional charge as Special Secretary (SC/ST/OBC/Minorities) alongside his role in Administrative Reforms. Sandeep Kumar Mishra, Member Secretary of DPCC, now has the added responsibility of Special Secretary (Environment and Forests).

Kumar Abhishek has been posted as District Magistrate (North), moving from Higher Education and Cooperative departments. Yash Chaudhary has been appointed Director (Social Welfare), transferring from his previous role as District Collector (North).

Among DANICS officers, Sravan Bagaria has been appointed District Magistrate (South-East). Prashant Kumar will now serve as Additional Secretary (Public Grievances Cell), and Shingare Ramchandra Mahadev is assigned as Additional Secretary (DSSSB).

Puneet Kumar Patel, previously awaiting posting, has been designated Additional Secretary (Urban Development). Dr Nidhi Sarohe has shifted to the Public Grievances Cell in the Chief Minister’s Office, and Ravinder Kumar moves from Finance to Delhi Jal Board. Ramesh Kumar, a 2024-batch officer, has been posted as Deputy Secretary (Home).
