New Delhi: Manoj Yadava, a senior IPS officer from the Haryana cadre, has been appointed as the Director General (DG) of the Railway Protection Force (RPF). The Personnel Ministry issued an order confirming his appointment. Yadava, a distinguished member of the 1988 batch of the Indian Police Service (IPS), will take over from Sanjay Chander, who is set to retire on July 31.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved Yadava's appointment as DG, RPF, until his retirement on July 31, 2025, as stated in the official order.
In another development, Shafi Ahsan Rizvi, currently serving as the Special Director in the Intelligence Bureau (IB), has been appointed as the Advisor of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), according to a separate order.
Additionally, the ACC has given approval for Rajesh Pradhan, currently serving as the Deputy Inspector General in the CBI, to be appointed as Joint Director in the Central Bureau of Investigation on a deputation basis. Pradhan, an accomplished IPS officer from the Maharashtra cadre, belonging to the 2003 batch, will assume his new role from the date of assuming charge and serve until his approved deputation tenure until January 30, 2027. /BI
