Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh government implemented a significant administrative reshuffle on the night of August 20, 2024, transferring nine IAS officers to new positions. Sukhbir Singh has been appointed as the new Chief Election Officer, replacing Anupam Rajan. Singh was previously serving as Principal Secretary of Horticulture and Food Processing, and he will also take on responsibilities in the Law and Legislature Department, focusing on electoral matters.
Anupam Rajan, who was the Chief Election Officer, has been reassigned as Principal Secretary for Higher Education and Principal Secretary for Horticulture and Food Processing. Amit Rathore, previously with the Commercial Tax Department and Cottage and Rural Industries, has been given an additional role as Principal Secretary of the Finance Department.
Shriman Shukla, who was managing the Agriculture Marketing Board, will now serve as Commissioner of the Shahdol division. Ravindra Singh has been appointed as Secretary in the Madhya Pradesh government, moving from his role as Commissioner-cum-Director of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection. Sibi Chakravarti, formerly with the Metro Rail Corporation Limited, will now take on Singh's previous role in Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection.
Rishi Garg, who was Deputy Secretary of Cottage and Rural Industries, has been appointed Member Secretary of the State Planning Commission and Commissioner of the Economic and Statistics Department. S Krishna Chaitanya, who served as CEO of the Employment Guarantee Council, will now lead the Metro Rail Corporation Limited. Avi Prasad, previously a Deputy Secretary, will replace Chaitanya as CEO of the Employment Guarantee Council. /BI
