New Delhi: Nidhi Chhibber, a 1994 batch Indian Administrative Service officer from the Chhattisgarh cadre, has been appointed as the Director General of the Development Monitoring and Evaluation Office (DMEO) at NITI Aayog. The decision was cleared by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
She is currently serving as Additional Secretary at NITI Aayog. As per the order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training, her appointment will be in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India. To enable this, the post of DG, DMEO has been temporarily upgraded. The move is described as a personal measure for the officer, with existing recruitment rules for the position put on hold.
This development also means that her earlier appointment as Officer on Special Duty in the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, issued on 18 April 2025, has been withdrawn.
