New Delhi: In a significant administrative shift, the Central Government on August 28, 2024 announced the appointment of Bihar Director General of Police Rajwinder Singh Bhatti as the new Director General of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Daljit Singh Chaudhary as the new chief of the Border Security Force (BSF).
Rajwinder Singh Bhatti, a 1990-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from the Bhopal cadre, has been appointed as the Director General of CISF, effective from the date he assumes charge. His tenure will extend up to the date of his superannuation on 30th September 2025 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Bhatti was appointed as the DGP of Bihar in December 2022. Before his central deputation, he served as the Director General of Bihar Special Armed Police (BSAP), previously known as BMP. His past roles include City SP of Patna, Assistant Superintendent of Police (Barh), SP in Jehanabad, Gopalganj, Purnia, DIG (Siwan), IG (Patna zone), IG (security), Joint Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and Director General (civil aviation).
Daljit Singh Chaudhary, a 1990-batch IPS officer, currently serving as the Director General of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), has been appointed to lead the BSF. Chaudhary's tenure as Director General of the BSF will continue until 30th November 2025, marking the end of his service.
Chaudhary previously held the positions of Special Director of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Additional Director General. Before assuming the role of SSB chief, he served as a Special Director General of the CRPF. /BI
