New Delhi: Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Sanjay Kumar Gunjyal has been appointed an Inspector General (IG) in the Border Security Force (BSF). Gunjyal, an IPS officer of 1997 batch of Uttarakhand cadre, has been appointed in the Level-14 pay matrix for a period of five years in the BSF, the world’s largest border securing force.
Senior IPS officer Chanchal Shekhar has been appointed as an Inspector General (IG) in the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) on deputation. Shekhar is an IPS officer of 1995 batch of Madhya Pradesh cadre. The Ministry of Home Affairs has written to the state government to relieve him.
It is worth mentioning that the National Crime Records Bureau is an Indian government agency, which is responsible for collecting and analyzing crime data as defined by the Indian Penal Code and Special and Local Laws. Headquartered in New Delhi, NCRB is a part of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. /BI/
