New Delhi: Subhas Chandra Lal Das, a 1992-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of AGMUT cadre, has taken charge as the new Secretary of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).
His appointment was approved earlier this week by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), Department of Personnel and Training under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions.
With a distinguished career, Das brings a wealth of experience to his new role. Prior to joining the MSME ministry, he served as the Director General of Hydrocarbons at the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas since December 2019. Previously, he held the position of Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Das holds an M Phil in Public Management and a B Sc in Statistics, which have equipped him with a strong foundation for effective leadership and decision-making. His appointment comes as he succeeds BB Swain, who served as the Secretary of the MSME ministry since January 2021. /BI/
