New Delhi: Microchip Technology Inc. (Nasdaq: MCHP), a global provider of smart, connected and secure embedded control and processing solutions, has expanded its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives in India to strengthen education, skills training and community development. The programmes are designed to advance youth development and workforce readiness while supporting national CSR goals.
The company has rebuilt schools in rural districts near Bengaluru, taken up road improvement works and is constructing two new schools in Karnataka to improve access to foundational education. In Tamil Nadu, Microchip inaugurated an upgraded Centre of Excellence in 2022 for children in Krishnagiri and supported the reconstruction of schools and hostels. In Hyderabad, Microchip has partnered with the Telangana Social Impact Group (T-SIG), Youth-Hub (Y-Hub) and the Inqui-Lab Foundation to set up an innovation space at a Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society all-girls’ high school in Maheshwaram. The facility provides students with hands-on learning through prototyping kits, maker tools and teacher training.

Beyond education, Microchip’s CSR efforts extend to environmental sustainability, healthcare and wider community engagement. The company also integrates sustainable practices into its operations and works with its Sustainability Megatrend team to help customers lower resource consumption through high-efficiency products.
Microchip said it will continue to scale its impact in India through collaborations with local partners and stakeholders, with an emphasis on holistic corporate citizenship.
