Kokrajhar: NTPC Bongaigaon has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Kokrajhar District Administration, Assam, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, focusing on tuberculosis (TB) eradication in the region. The partnership, formalised recently, aims to support the national objective of achieving a TB-free India by 2025, in line with the vision of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The agreement centres on providing nutritional support to 100 TB patients in Kokrajhar district over the next 12 months. NTPC Bongaigaon will fund the distribution of food baskets to these patients, which will be managed and distributed by the District TB Officer. This initiative is intended to improve the nutritional status and recovery rates of TB patients, contributing to the broader goal of eradicating the disease.

The MoA was signed in the presence of key officials, including Smt. Kabita Deka, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Kokrajhar, who represented the District Administration, and Dr. Deepayan Paul, Chief Medical Officer, representing NTPC Bongaigaon. The signing ceremony was attended by Shri Pradeep Kumar Dwivedi, IAS, District Commissioner of Kokrajhar, and Shri Akhilesh Singh, Head of Project at NTPC Bongaigaon, along with other dignitaries.

This collaboration marks the second consecutive year that NTPC Bongaigaon has partnered with the District Administration to combat TB in the region, highlighting the importance of CSR in addressing critical healthcare issues and supporting community development.
