Unox India launches CSR initiative to train young bakers

New Delhi: Unox India has launched its first Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative in India, titled “Baking a Better Tomorrow”, aimed at empowering youth with practical baking skills. The programme is conducted in collaboration with Learn for Life, an NGO supporting children and youth from low socioeconomic backgrounds through education and skill development.

The initiative began on 14 October at the UNOX Experience Centre in Gurgaon with a baking workshop attended by 30 students from Delhi-based NGOs affiliated with Learn for Life. Participants received hands-on training in professional baking techniques and equipment under the mentorship of Unox chefs.

Davide Colombo, Deputy Head of the Economic and Innovation Department, Embassy of Italy, New Delhi, attended the event as Chief Guest.

“On World Food Day, our focus was simple: convert access to equipment into access to opportunity,” said Vikram Goel, Regional Director, Unox India & SEA. “By teaching practical skills on the same technology used by industry professionals, we want to help young people imagine and prepare for careers in modern kitchens.”

Michael and Nicole, Programme Leads at Learn for Life, added, “This partnership was not about handouts, but about empowerment. For our participants, this workshop was a chance to learn, to create, and to take their first step towards building sustainable futures in the baking and hospitality industry.”

Through “Baking a Better Tomorrow”, Unox India aims to nurture employable skills, enhance confidence, and create career opportunities in the hospitality and bakery sectors, reflecting its commitment to social impact through education and technology.
