New Delhi: India Post has opened its first Gen Z–themed revamped Post Office at the IIT Delhi campus, marking a major step in its effort to build youth-friendly postal spaces across educational institutions. The initiative aligns with the Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia’s vision to reinvent Post Offices as vibrant, modern environments that appeal to students and young citizens.

The redesigned Campus Post Office reflects a complete shift in how postal services are presented on campus. Created in collaboration with IIT Delhi students, the space features contemporary design elements, Wi-Fi-enabled areas, graffiti and artwork by the IIT Fine Arts Society and new digital access points such as QR-based parcel booking. Student-friendly Speed Post discounts have also been introduced to make services more accessible.

The revamp at IIT Delhi is part of a national effort to upgrade 46 Post Offices located within educational campuses by 15 December 2025. A strong focus has been placed on student involvement, with India Post bringing students on board as brand ambassadors, co-designers and partners in digital outreach. A new student franchise model has been introduced for the first time at IIT Delhi, allowing students to gain practical experience in postal operations while encouraging entrepreneurial learning. Special branded parcel packaging options have also been made available to simplify parcel booking for students.

India Post acknowledged the role of the IIT Delhi community, noting the contributions of the Director, Deans, faculty and student groups who helped shape the redesigned Post Office through their ideas and active participation.

The Department stated that it remains committed to creating modern and accessible postal spaces across campuses, strengthening engagement with young users nationwide.
