India to host global conference to advance green hydrogen roadmap

New Delhi: The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) will host the International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH 2025) on November 11 and 12 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The two-day event will bring together senior Union Ministers, global experts, industry leaders, and researchers to accelerate India’s clean energy ambitions through the green hydrogen ecosystem.

Union Ministers Pralhad Joshi (New and Renewable Energy and Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution), Hardeep Singh Puri (Petroleum and Natural Gas), and Jitendra Singh (Science & Technology and Earth Sciences) are among those expected to attend the conference.

The event, aligned with the objectives of the National Green Hydrogen Mission, will focus on scaling up domestic green hydrogen production, building enabling infrastructure, creating market demand, and promoting international collaboration in clean fuel technologies. Sessions will explore key areas such as financing mechanisms, certification standards, export and port readiness, workforce skill development, and localisation of green hydrogen technologies. The conference will also examine opportunities across different regions of India, linking local advantages with emerging market needs.

Officials from the Ministries of Power, Ports, Steel, Fertilisers, and Science & Technology will participate, reflecting the sector’s cross-cutting relevance to India’s industrial and energy transformation. International delegations from the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), Hydrogen Europe, H2 Global Foundation, Korea Hydrogen Alliance, and the Port of Rotterdam Authority will also join, signalling growing global cooperation in green hydrogen.

Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary of MNRE and Chairman of SECI, said, “Green hydrogen will be an important part of India's efforts to ensure clean, affordable and domestically produced energy. The sector is evolving, and it is important to bring clarity on technology choices, cost trends, infrastructure requirements and demand creation. ICGH 2025 will help align the priorities of government, industry and research so that implementation under the Mission can move forward in a coordinated manner.”

The conference is expected to drive clarity on technology pathways, financing frameworks, and infrastructure investment, helping move India’s green hydrogen sector beyond pilot projects into large-scale implementation. Detailed session information and registration are available at www.icgh.in. The event will run across two full days, from November 11 to 12, at Bharat Mandapam.
