75 CAPFs’ brave hearts to paddle for 3040 kms across 49 days

Gandhi Nagar. Gujarat Minister of State for Home, Sports, Youth Service & Cultural Activities Harsh R Sanghavi on Monday flagged off the all CAPFs Fit India Cyclothon from Gandhinagar to Imphal (Manipur) at BSF Campus Gandhinagar in presence of DGP Gujarat Ashish Bhatia, IG BSF Gujarat Frontier G S Malik among others. The 75 Cyclists of All CAPFs (Central Armed Police Forces) will be covering a distance of 3040 Kms in 49 days and reach Imphal, Manipur on 20th February 2022.

This is a unique programme since it will promote various programs of Government of India like ‘Fit India Movement’, ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’, ‘Green Village Clean Village’, ‘Atamanirbhar Bharat’ .

Malik informed that all CAPFs Cyclothon is being organised under Fit India Movement as a part of celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on the occasion of 75th year of India’s independence.

Sanghavi expressed his appreciation for BSF and said that Gujarat is proud of BSF for securing our countries borders. He further congratulated all the cyclists and conveyed his best wishes for successful completion of the journey from Gandhinagar to Imphal.

Malik informed that BSF is maintaining strict vigil on Indo-Pakistan border and has completely sealed Harami Nallah and Creek area as a result of which no intrusion as taken place in 2021 through this area. A cultural programme showcasing India’s cultural diversity was presented which was appreciated by all. /BI/
