New Delhi: Alert troops of Border Security Force (BSF) intercepted and shot down a Pakistan drone which intruded into Indian territory along the International Border in Punjab’s Tarn Taran district on Friday.
BSF troopers noticed the drone on Friday night and immediately reacted to intercept it. “BSF troops intercepted and brought down a Pakistani drone that violated Indian airspace in the village Lakhana of Tarn Taran district. Yet again, the nefarious designs of Pakistan have been foiled by the BSF,” said the BSF in a tweet.
In a statement, the BSF said that on 23rd June 2023 at around 2112 hrs, the force intercepted the movement of a suspected drone near village T J Singh in Tarn Taran district. As per the laid down drill, the BSF troops immediately reacted to intercept the drone.
Further, a joint search operation with the Punjab Police was carried out. During the search at about 0810 am, a drone in broken condition was recovered from the farming field adjacent to village Lakhana in Tarn Taran.
The recovered drone is a Quadcopter of model DJI Matrice 300 RTK series. Yet another Pakistani drone was recovered by joint efforts of the BSF and the Punjab Police in the Ferozepur sector, said the BSF in the statement. /BI/
