New Delhi: Sheel Vardhan Singh, Director General of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) received the ‘Best March Contingent Trophy of Republic Day Parade’ from MP Gupta, Director, Ministry of Defence, at a special function organized here at CISF headquarters on February 25.

The CISF contingent consisting of 99 officers and men – Assistant Commandant 1, Lady Sub Officers 2 and other ranks 96 – led by Mohnish Bagree, Assistant Commandant, participated in the Republic Day Parade-22 held at the Rajpath, New Delhi, which was declared the ‘Best Marching Contingent’ among para-military forces and other auxiliary marching contingents on February 4, 2022.

MP Gupta, Director, Ministry of Defence, presented the ‘Best Marching Contingent Trophy’ to Sheel Vardhan Singh, DG, CISF, Contingent Commander Mohnish Bagree, Assistant Commandant and Band Master Karan Singh, Sub-Inspector, in the presence of other senior offices of CISF, MoD, and Ministry of Home Affairs, said the CISF in a statement.

Gupta congratulated DG, CISF, for the excellent performance of CISF contingent in the Republic Day Parade-22. DG, CISF also congratulated Contingent Commander and other officers of CISF for their excellent performance and bringing this proud achievement to the organization. This is the seventh time that the CISF contingent has won the ‘Best Marching Contingent’ Award. Earlier, the CISF Contingent was adjudged the ‘Best Marching Contingent’ in the year 2007, 2008, 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2020, said Apoorv Pandey, Assistant Inspector General, Public Relations Officer, CISF. /BI/
