New Delhi: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) announced on Friday that it will install project information signboards with QR codes along stretches of National Highways, giving commuters quick access to essential details and emergency helpline numbers.
According to NHAI, the vertical QR code signboards will display project-specific information such as the national highway number, chainage, and contact details for the highway patrol, toll manager, resident engineer, along with the 1033 emergency helpline.
The signboards are planned at strategic locations including toll plazas, wayside amenities, rest areas, truck lay-byes, and highway entry and exit points. Scanning the QR code will provide commuters with verified local and emergency information in real time.
NHAI said the initiative is aimed at improving road safety, enhancing user experience, and increasing awareness about India’s National Highway network.
