New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release incentives worth around ₹2,400 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) at a programme scheduled at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on June 19.

The disbursal comes as the Centre pushes ahead with its employment-linked incentive programme aimed at generating jobs, bringing more workers into the formal economy and expanding social security coverage. According to the government, the scheme has already facilitated employment for nearly 15 lakh beneficiaries across the country.

Under PM-VBRY, first-time employees are eligible for financial support of up to ₹15,000 as they enter the workforce. Employers creating additional jobs can receive incentives of up to ₹3,000 per month for every additional employee hired.

The scheme offers extended benefits to the manufacturing sector, with eligible employers able to claim incentives for four years. Employers in other sectors can avail benefits for a period of two years.

Introduced on August 1, 2025, PM-VBRY seeks to encourage job creation while increasing participation in formal employment. The government has allocated ₹99,446 crore for the scheme and expects it to support the creation of more than 3.5 crore jobs over two years.

Of the projected beneficiaries, around 1.92 crore are expected to be first-time entrants into the workforce. The government says the initiative is intended to support both workers and employers while widening social security coverage and strengthening formal employment opportunities across sectors.
