Secunderabad: The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, awarded Colours to the College of Defence Management, Secunderabad, on December 20, 2024.
 

In her address, the President emphasised that India’s improved defence management capabilities will strengthen its diplomatic and military partnerships, enhance defence exports, and enable a proactive role in global security forums.
 

She highlighted the transformative impact of technological advancements on national security. Traditional warfare methods are evolving due to emerging technologies and strategic alliances. India is prioritising cutting-edge advancements, such as artificial intelligence, drones, cyber warfare, and space defence, to modernise defence systems, boost efficiency, and achieve global competitiveness.
 

The President stressed the importance of armed forces personnel staying updated on technological developments and shifting operational dynamics. In the era of grey zone and hybrid warfare, institutions like the College of Defence Management play a critical role in preparing for these challenges. She urged the institution and its personnel to adapt continuously and pursue excellence in the evolving security environment.
 

India’s defence capabilities reflect both its strength and strategic vision, she said, noting the country’s growing influence in regional and global defence dialogues through multilateral economic and military frameworks. By focusing on self-reliance, technological progress, and strategic partnerships, India is enhancing its security while contributing to global peace and stability.
